The Musings of Some Troll

It’s never going to be me.  Why do I let myself believe it will be?  I’m just gonna play guitar and read cynical philosophy all the rest of my days.

THE PUNS

THE PUNSSSSSSSSSSS

My generation.

My generation is the generation of “spreading awareness”.  Please don’t take this as me saying we are revolutionary or passionate;  My generation would “spread awareness” of toenails, and people would eat it up.  I’m sure there would be a very popular video, with a really cool Dubstep song and some flashy editing.  It’d be a youtube hit for a few weeks, and then a series of memes later.  Thousands of millions of facebook statuses will include the link to the video, and cries for “toenail awareness” for a solid three weeks, until the next movement hits.  The truth is, everyone knows toenails are there, they just need to take the effort to look down.  They are a fickle generation looking for depth and emotional content with each trending potential movement, unaware of the fact that they are cheapening what could have the potential to be something due to a lack of understand, and an overage of mindless blabbering and repetition.  They cling to whatever social issue they can find to identify with, and become an “activist” until they are called out by someone who knows their shit well enough to realize that these kids who claim to be so up to date on social issues, and the current state of the world are just children living in an ideal world, wanting to change something out of a whim to vicariously live through a movement bigger than they feel they could ever be.  They are an emotionally and rationally immature generation, one that is actually shocked and appalled to realize “with liberty and justice for all” is not the motto of the world, but moreover a template certain nations wealthy enough, both financially and socially speaking, attempt to loosely follow.  They are hypocrites of the highest caliber, crying for food for to starving in third world countries, whilst they tweet on their newly purchased iPad 2, their paychecks going to the newest video game system to play out the violent wars they so protest in Call of duty.  My generation is all talk.  We have known african warlords have existed for years upon years.  We have known bullying is an issue many school children face.  We have known gay people have gotten the absolute shit end of the stick in many, if not most scenarios, and we have known that people all deserve to be treated equal.  What my generation doesn’t know is that life is not fair.  It never EVER will be, and regardless of how many times I hear someone my age say it, I don’t think they really understand what they mean.  People will never be equal, world peace will never exist, people will always die horribly, and people will always take out their anger on one another.  Regardless of how many times you try to raise awareness of this, it’s not going to change.  We know these things.  I know these things.  If you don’t know these things, clearly you’re wearing the most opaque rose-colored glasses out there.  I’d rather do something than “raise awareness”.  One man standing up is worth 100,000 teenagers “raising awareness” via facebook, twitter, youtube, or even tumblr.  Go out and vote.  Go out and experience the world as it is, not as the people on the internet and TV news tell you it is.  Go DO something, first hand, no matter what it is.  And for the love of whatever god you believe in, don’t do it just to say you did it.  My generation is a confused one, looking for it’s movement in every word spread on every social media site.  My generation would rather go to a Dubstep show and take tens of pills and claim to be revolutionary for a status you posted the day of than read about the actual revolution that gave you the freedom to spew literary bile wherever you so please.  My generation blathers constantly about its love of the arts, and how they will unify us as a people, but won’t even pay $10 dollars (okay, sometimes more) for a CD from their favorite band.  My generation likes to claim a lot of things, and I think they’re full of shit.  Maybe i’m a cynical bastard, hell, there’s no maybe about it, I KNOW I am a cynical bastard, but I secede from my generation.  Truly, I understand the Fear of a Blank Planet.

Good lord

Random drunken depression last night.  No more Vodka for a little bit.  ahaha.

I just wish

I was somebody’s first choice, and not just a last hope, rebound or the best current option.  I wish I had someone who cared for me for who I am, and not what I could do for them.
